Hi all, hope everyone's ready for winter. For those of you who have seen my car, it's undergone some changes in the last couple weeks.

My old setup was a Vortech V2 T-trim in my '05 Mustang GT. I have an 8.5:1 MMR forged 4.6L shortblock, stock heads/cams/intake/TB/3650 trans. I do have a SPEC S2+ clutch and a Spydershaft aluminum driveshaft. Best dyno numbers on a Dynojet were 525/467 with the stock manifold and 537/459 with the FRPP manifold that I got rid of almost immediately because I lost a ton of torque. I had it pulleyed for 15psi of boost at 6700rpm.

Old pics:

I sold the blower a couple weeks ago (in 9 minutes on a nationwide forum!) and bought an On3 turbo kit with the Masterpower T70 turbo upgrade. Sold the blower setup for $2900 plus got $350 for my headers, and the On3 kit cost me $2488 with shipping.

Couple new pics:

I have a 15psi wastegate spring setup in it now and it's crazy....way faster than it was with the blower. It gets dyno tuned tomorrow at APS in Shakopee; I will post up my new numbers if anyone cares.

That is just a really CLEAN looking car, nice!! I would be curious what the new numbers are. Do they check them before and after the tune, or just after? I'd be curious how much the tune picks up too. Either way, good luck!

Very cool Kris. So does the Turbo produce more efficient boost over a wider rpm range? Did u do the install at Don's? Do you have a video of the dyno to share? Why did you choose aps. I am going to ask u a bunch of questions hahaha. I would love to put a Turbo on my fox.

Yes, turbo is more efficient and makes more power at the same boost level. Main reason, though, is the torque...at 4000rpm my Vortech only made maybe 8psi of boost, and I'm already at 15psi with the turbo setup at the same rpm, so the midrange torque difference is incredible. Yes, Don and I did the install, which took probably 14 hours total working at a moderate pace after moving the coolant overflow tank and misc coolant connection changes. I will get a dyno video after today (it goes on at APS at 11:00). Casey, who tunes at APS (not sure if he still tunes at Hitech also) wanted to tune it, so he's doing it. So far I can recommend the On3 kit, esp for the money. I believe you will need an aftermarket K-member for the On3 on your car.

I just priced out the basic kit for my car. Pretty good deal. Not sure what s-trims bring for $ these days but I would image it would cover a good chunk. Plus my injectors Maf, TB and fuel pump would probably work still. Can't wait to see your #'s.

Only made a little under 13psi on spring pressure on the dyno, which was around 500/510 at the wheels. We added about 4psi boost which ended up at around 17psi and it ended up making 551/558 SAE corrected (like 570/585 uncorrected or something).

16psi pull:

Lovin it! What did you have to do for exhaust? How's the sound of the turbo from in the car? I would kind of miss my noisy S-Trim.

I think my buddy in IA may by my S-Trim. If so I will be installing one this winter or wait till spring to go out to Don's.

I still have stock mufflers on it. Sounds good but its very quiet, I might get a different axleback for it to get a little more sound. You don't hear the turbo during normal driving, until you're at around 1/2 throttle or so, the it starts to sound a little like a jet engine. I'm sure Don and I could help you install it.

Are you running there Y pipe to make it work with your stock axle back? On3 guy said to buy their Y pipe if I wanted to retain my cat back, what would be the other option?

From talking to On3 they would recommend the single turbo kit for $1475, MAF kit $195 and there Y pipe for $150 if I want to keep my cat back. Not too bad considering I could probably re-coupe over half the $ buy selling my S-Trim, MAF and Mac Pro Chamber.

Don's shop would probably be the wise choice. With your guys help it would go much smoother. Only problem is I would have to wait until after the turbo was installed to sell off all the SC stuff. Not a real big deal just need to do my research so I have a good idea what my used stuff is worth.

My 07 was Windveil Blue, and I really liked that color. Nice car, and very well done!
