It's true. For the first time since 1985, the Chevrolet Camaro (http://www.autoblog.com/model/camaro) will outsell the Ford Mustang (http://www.autoblog.com/model/mustang) in 2010. Besides giving the Bowtie Boys something to crow about, it also makes us genuinely intrigued to watch how 2011 unfolds, considering that Chevy (http://www.autoblog.com/make/chevrolet/) plans to unleash its convertible (http://www.autoblog.com/2010/11/16/officially-official-2011-chevrolet-camaro-convertible-w-videos/) and Z28 Camaro (http://www.autoblog.com/2010/10/05/spy-shots-2012-chevrolet-camaro-z28-running-the-ring/4) editions.

Somewhat surprisingly, Ford (http://autoblog.com/make/ford) doesn't seem too bothered. According to Ford sales analyst George Pipas, "If that was important, we wouldn't have taken a shift off at Flat Rock," which is where the plant that assembles the Mustang is located. That's a somewhat dubious statement, since building too many vehicles in one model year only leads to problems for the next... In any case, this is a trend worth monitoring.

I ride my Camaro from the Mountains to the Sea, the wheels as they spin seem to sing a song to me,, I ride my Camaro,, The Super Hugger from Chevrolet!!! a great TV add from the early 70's Beautiful footage from Highway 1 on the California Coast!

ok back in the day,, Chevy had better adds than Ford,, Ford's were kinda lame,, Amoco had a great add with a Camaro,, it was at Willow Springs Raceway and it started out with the wind blowing over the track and a tumbleweed blows by and in the distance you can hear this waaaaaaaa, waaaaaaa, of a high reving small block and it gets closer and closer and then goes by and you hear the waaaaaaaaaaa,, fade away,,, and then this deep voice comes on and says' "This is Chevrolet's Z28 Camaro,, It is powered by Amoco Gas!" it just kinda leaves you hangin' for more and there isn't!!! But But,, Due to the fact that I refer to GM as Obama Motors,, I Will never ever own another Chevrolet newer than about 07,,

Fine Fine let them have 1 win. 2011 is a whole different story all together: 5.0>SS

Well, Camaro had how many years of NO cars being produced, so there was some pent up demand. Now that the demand is satisfied, they will go back to being bottom dwellers. Sonicx, I agree 100%, 5.0>SS!!

The 67-69 (RS & SS models) and then the 71 z/28 were imo the best camaro made. Since then including the new 2010 i've really only liked the 01 & 02 z/28's (my dad had a 02 z/28 red covert) thing was a beast. Now the SS means really means nada. Back in the day the SS badge stood for something (fierce) now it's just another package like basic and premium packages for mustang (nothing too much to set it part besides the v8 to v6 engine). Chevy has thrown that around too much.... HHR, COLBOLT, IMPALA. It's too bad really. And then i think it's wierd that you can get a v6 w/ the RS package or you can get a v8 w/ the SS package. Chevy blends stuff to much hahaha.

I had two Camaros a 78 Z28 and 87 IROC both would run away and hide from anything Ford was building at the time,, Especially the 78,, since we couldn't leave well enough alone!!

I think Chevy will win again if & when the new z/28 rolls out.
