Amazing the difference Randy (Haulnss) was able to make, looks like an entirely different car!

* The pics above are only after the two polishing steps. There is no 'waxes' or 'sealants' on the car, just bare, clean, polished paint. The process we used is listed below. I hope someone took some 'after' pictures. ;)

Basically, it was me starting with my FLEX buffer, Meguiars M105, and an orange cutting pad. Dan then followed up with his PC7424, M205, and a white polishing pad. After the two polishing steps, we washed & dried the car to clean off any polishing oils. :washwax:

After the wash, I applied Zaino Z-AIO All In One and then one coat of Zaino Z5 Show Car Polish. The car got a final wipe down with Z8 Grand Finale spray and a Zaino border free towel.

Post more pics Jason! :photo:

PS: This is probably the most fun I have had buffing a car. The car came out great, but Dan is a great guy, awesome host, and a pretty good student. I see many shiny cars in his future........ Thanks again, Dan.:worship2:

Wow - amazing results!

Why do you do only half of the car like that?

Get Dan hooked then raise the price?

Anytime. It was a great time and I hope you learned a little. You and Michelle are also great hosts and great people.

I'm kind of bummed about Sunday, but hopefully you'll be back up in no time.

Now where are the finished pics? Pics of Dan buffing away?

Long story short, it bottomed out and this time it took out the oilpan... BOOM splat bang! No other damage that I'm aware of yet, but a new pan is needed.

Looks fantastic Dan. Maybe there should be a club "detailing" night so we can all learn the right way to polish and detail a car. I would be a very willing student  Detailing a newer car is probably much different than restoring an older, faded finish. If the guys would like to run a detailing clinic, I'll bet you would have a full house.

We've done that in the past, this time we wanted a bit more time to work on the car but I bet we can put something together soon. :)

I checked my pics, they didn't turn out great at all. I'll push the car in the driveway and get some better shots this week.

I would like to see it done on a black car! This would be a true test of your ability. But D9 car looks alot better from the pic's posted. It does appear to have some orange peel? How does one get rid of that, wet sanding?

Dan's car does have some orange peel that would require wetsanding to make it smooth. However, the goal on Saturday was to just make it look "better" and not aim for perfection. The plan was to leave as much paint on the car as possible.

Bummer.

If you need help pushing, let me know! ;)

If you need help removing fingerprints from all the pushing, please let me know. :biggrin2:

Thanks everyone for the compliments, but make sure to send some Dan's way (and Tim SVT-5liter) as they both spent quite a bit of time with the buffer. The "trophy collectors" better step up their car care game this year, Dan and Tim have! :hehehmn:

assuming that one of my cars leaves the garage under it's own power this year, what do you charge for a foxbody vert or an SN95?

BTW :fork:

that is an awesome apron! haha

It is very handy!

Full microfiber, so no scratches from belts or clothes
Pouches for keeping bottles handy
Velcro cord keeper to keep the buffer cord on my shoulder

One of my handier tool investments. :D
