Not sure if MN Fords will organize for 5/21, but you are free to show up at any test and tune, bracket race, or fun event. As for certs, equipment, etc, it all depends on how fast you run. Converts at 13.49 and faster need a roll bar, rest of cars at 11.49. If you have a rollbar/cage, it now requires padding anywhere your helmet can contact it. Fire jacket at 11.49.
M2000 or SA2000 helmets will still work for 2011.
If you are going to run faster than 11.0 then the requirements go up.

You'll be fine with no jacket, assuming you don't have an non-OEM supercharger or turbo. Just bring your enthusiasm and your money. Hope to see you at the track.

Nope (not my choice, but senders... he paid shipping).
USPS shows it got to Des Moines and then mysteriously vanished (did have delivery confirmation on it... still shows not-delivered).

Seller has already agreed to refund my $$ if it can't be located in the next couple of weeks.
We have a Mail Recovery underway with the USPS, basically turns into an internal investigation if they can't find the package.

One way or another, I'll get things ready before racing season. :hehehmn:

WELL... i was wondering about MAY 21st since it's listed as "Club" on the schedule?

Sometimes the Designated Club Days by the race track can be fairly busy. Picking a day not already designated might be a better solution like April 30 or May 14 since they are Test days and may get you more times down the track.

It's been quite a few years sense this club has done a track day. I'm not sure of the reason? But it's really to bad. :(

Edit: Three years......

The guys who typically run have either sold their cars, or have been fighting issues that have prevented them from running.
Add on a 100+ mile trip to get there (almost 200 for some of us),
and the $80 entry fee = no go for many who would otherwise be on the fence.

Car club day has a lower entry fee ($40 car/driver versus $69 for a test and tune). Open time trials from 9:30 to 1:00 and then they run indexed eliminations from 1:30 on. I know that many like to simply make timed passes with the car to get a good ET slip, so test and tunes might be a better choice. For me, the adrenaline doesn't start pumping until I know I have to put a full package of reaction time and ET together to beat out the guy in the other lane.

I think the last planned track day was September 8, 2008. It was a big event that was being filmed for Inside Drag Racing with Bob Frey. The day was marred by multiple oil downs that kept one lane or the other shut down most of the day. It was a disaster for everyone. Unfortunately, that is what happens sometimes. Not much anyone can do about it -- cars break.

I am confident we will be there nearly every weekend the track is open. My wife shoots the photos and I'll be racing the bracket series. The plans are not to run test runs on Saturdays at this point, but we'll still be there. I'll either be shooting photos and video myself, or possibly working tech again.
