I know you guys have tuned a few SVT Contour's. I have every intention of having you guys tune my car as well. However I've got a few questions. I've got a freshly built 2005 3L which I'm hoping to have completely assembled and installed back in my car by the end of May depending on how the paint work progresses. The engine is extremely well built and should be able to put out around 600hp without a problem as no corner has been cut. I'm going to be running a progressive HKS EVC6 boost controller so that I can map it from 5-20psi based on vehicle speed to help with traction. However I'm a little concerned with the start up and break in of the engine. With the amount of money I've got wrapped up in the engine with a lot of custom parts I want to make sure everything is done right the first time. Some people have said to run it and break it in with out installing the turbo setup, others have said to install it and run it at low boost pressure for the first 500 miles and then gradually increase the peak boost pressure over the rest of the break in period. Then others have suggested breaking it in on the dyno. I currently have an SCT X3 matched with the ProRacer Package, which I used to create a base tune to get it up and running.

So my questions are...

Would you be able to work with me to tune my car?
What is your schedule looking like for June?
What are your recommendations regarding engine break in?
Have you worked with the HKS EVC Easy Writer software?
Do you have any general thoughts or concerns?

Thanks.

Good luck on the build, very interested to see how this turns out...

Side note, do you (or someone you know) own an Integra with the license plate "ScullyX"? I saw it in one of your pics and I swear I have seen someone in that car before..

Also... at this time of year Danny is absolutely swamped, don't count on him to be here in the Forums he is most likely working on the dyno, or under a car doing who knows what.

If you have questions CALL THE SHOP.

I know chatting with him yesterday, they are booked solid going out for weeks... so call early and plan ahead.

We used too. It was my wife's car that she has had since she was in highschool, when she had a thing for the show X-Files. The license plate was actually stolen off the rear of the car sometime a little over a year ago, which forced us to just get regular plates for it. I have since sold it to my brother, who fixed it up (rusting bad in quarters) and gave to his gf to drive around. Not sure if I drove that car over to your place at one time Dan to pick up those COP's... or maybe I drove the Mazda3 can't remember. Either way we only live about 3 miles from you so you've probably seen it a lot over the years ;)

I swear I have seen it within the last year.. on 35w heading southbound around 7 or 7:30 in the morning on my way to work. I have seen it a few times but have never caught up to the driver to see who it was. I loved the Xfiles too so I remember the plate gave me a chuckle.

Yea my wife used to drive it to work (gray metallic 94 Integra), which would have been South bound on 35W in the morning around that time... but she hasn't been driving if for about 2 years since she bought a 09 Mazda3.

Give Dan a call at the shop, he can probably work with you on the tuning. We don't have the HKS Writer software or used it. We wanted it for their F-Con VPro system, but they would only sell it to companies that were directly with them and sold a massive amount of their product every month. We have opening in June.

Just wanted to update this thread, I called Danny and he was a great help. Should have my car in there by early/mid June if the paint work and engine assembly goes smooth.
