cool. I also run e-85 in my car. Do you think you had true e85 already or was it still winter blend?

Wow, you are only about 100 hp shy of what I lay down before the spray, AND you are a FULL 800 lbs lighter! Nice numbers!.....:worship2:

EVO's and STI's were the other 2 cars I was looking at buying before I got my Cobra.

Guess I just need to figure how to make more power???........;->

Thanks guys. The car feels awesome. Ive confirmed with the shop owner and some of his customer's that 350ish whp on his dyno has netted 115mph traps in their Evo's. So this coming Sunday should be fun @ Rockfalls. Im not sure if its the winter blend (E70) stil or not, but when I dynoed I still had a couple gallons of BP-93oct. slushing around in there.

ive just been really nervous to get on mine or run it hard at all just yet. I have my boost turned down a ways and just babying it for the most part.

Do you have a wideband A/F gauge? I keep one eye on mine for caution, but E85/E70 gives you such a large window of error compared to gas its not even funny.

yes i do have one. Howeevr to my knowledge having e70 vs e85 will no result in showing a lean condition or anything on the AF guauge. Should i end up with e70 vs e85 while running hard on a tune intended for true e85 it could result in major detonation and big problems.

I was talking to one of the guys this last Saturday and he has been a e85 user for awhile now and he said they still only have winter blends going in the pumps right now.

thats what i figured. I really should just bite the bullet and get a tester. The whole guage and electric setup to test runs about 600 bucks though. I have also heard there is a manual tester that can be had much cheaper.

based on what i can see there we only get the good stuff for sure in july. But get grade 2 starting in may-sept.

I was talking with a guy in WI and he was buying by the barrel so he could ensure he was getting E-85. Seems like a lot of work. I would think you could get a hydrometer (I think that is the device) in the glass tube variety for a hundred or so. It is much like checking coolant; you look to see how high the device floats in a tube of fuel.

hydrometers are usually pretty cheap. Hell one for saltwater is only about 10-15 bucks. I have thought about going the barrel route as well.

I would just make the point to tune on E70 when it's available, then if it's end up be true E85 in the warmer parts on the year, you'll have even more of a margin of error in the tune.

Just got back from the track today and managed a 12.1@117MPH on my stock clutch. Pretty happy with what I was working with but I know there is a whole lot more in this same setup. I just need to run taller tires and a clutch that will let me take full advantage of my 2-step!
