[MNFE Event] Sat. July 30th - Watch and Race at Elko Speedway!

Minnesota Fords has been invited to Elko Speedway's July 30th "Eve of Destruction" event. Come on out and join the club as we watch some of the craziness! Minnesota Ford members will also be invited to participate and have their cars take a lap on the track for all the fans to enjoy.

More details will be emailed out to those that are interested as well as in the membership only forums, so let us know if you plan to attend!

If you are not a member of Minnesota Fords but might be interested in attending to see if the club is the right fit for you, please let us know!

I'll be there, just don't think I'll be racing. Front tires took a beating on the auto-cross this past weekend, and I haven't the funds to buy a 3rd set this year. Haven't had a chance to fully inspect yet, will likely make a decision on race day based on number of participants ... etc.

Elko does not provide them, you might wanna get one if you plan on autocrossing in the future, people generally dont like to borrow their helmets to other people...

For some reason, I was thinking the track was some sort of tri-oval - that's kinda how it looks in some of the videos. But, I just flew over it Monday on a trip to embarrass myself in front of the air traffic controllers at Flying Cloud Airport, and realized it was oval.

Is there a pit entrance where we meet? Do we need MNFE credentials? Sorry for being a newb - never been to that race track before.

Weather forecast looks very nice for Saturday, and without knowing which way the wind will be blowing, it should be an excellent night for racing.

I have a feeling this is a Mustang only thing. If you go to their facebook page, they are promoting this as a bring your mustang and race it! Yes, it sounds like it is OPEN to the general public!!! I think John V or Jenn was going to find out for sure, but I wanted to share this with all of you!!

I agree, it would also affect plans to race. I'm sure guys don't want to race their $50k car against a $400 fox body driven by a stranger! I could be wrong, but I prolly will not put my 6k mustang out their like that. You sign a release waiver when you get there. I wouldn't want to take that risk against strangers.

I was initially bringing the lightning, but it sounds like a "mustang" event, let's pull the discrimination card!!

Hopefully someone will have more info today....

Yea Joel Elko aint to picky about helmets as long as its a Snell/DOT and no more than 10 years old you should be okay man.
