I am looking at getting a truck this fall or spring. Looking at crew cab 4wd F150's. I would like to spend $15000 cash. Any years to stay away from? Any known major issues with the 04-06's?

nothin to major with them, just make sure the mode door for the heat/ac works in all modes (common to stick on the 05 1/2+ models). spark plugs but not much you can do about those.

My dd is a 1995 F150 with 242K on it, so the miles wouldn't scare me at all. The key is getting it for the right price because when you go to sell it again, you will have to practically give it away. That means you will need to get a really good deal to make it worthwhile.

Good point Mike. I purchased a high mile Passat and owned it for a couple years. When I tried to sell it I lost a bunch.
