Ford (http://www.autoblog.com/ford/) may be showing off its new Focus ST and ST Wagon (http://www.autoblog.com/2011/09/12/2012-ford-focus-st-frankfurt-motor-show-2011/), but there's also something in store for those seeking a far more track-focused ride. The Ford Focus ST-R is a product of Ford Racing, and it will be made available to North American motorsports teams in the very near future.
The Focus (http://www.autoblog.com/ford/focus/) racer has been homologated out of the gate to conform to U.S. and Canadian touring car racing specs, including items like an FIA-spec rollcage and a specifically tuned suspension tuned for track work. Ford has stated that it will eventually filter into other regions throughout the world, providing a turn-key racer to motorsports teams across the globe.
