Hallo.

I'm somewhat new here, I say that because I've attended the last two car meetings and volunteered at the recent Car Show so some of you might have seen me around.
I have a 2000(ish?) Mercury Cougar that I'm getting from my brother (who has a somewhat faster car). I really don't know much about cars as of right now, but I do plan on somewhat modifying Cougar (new bumper, maybe side skirts, and maybe eventually a new paint job). Nothing extraordinary or over the top but I'm eager to learn and become somewhat more of a man.

Welcome. Glad you're able to finally make it up to the boards. Im not sure if your interested in aftermarket stuff yet or not but hey it's worth a look: http://www.gripmotorsports.com/vl~pn~Mercury-Cougar-0.html

Thanks, yeah I'm not going to do anything to it just yet but I think the first thing I'm going to do is replace the front bumper which has two noticeably large cracks in it haha, but I'm definitely going to bookmark that page.

Hello! Check out http://www.newcougar.org/forums/forum.php

I'm a moderator there and I know more than anyone would ever want to know about the 99-02 Cougar and 98-00 SVT Contour. Dan (DNeinstadt) /\ and I build and install 3L's for Cougars/Contours (http://www.3LDuratec.com). If you want to bump the power up the 3L is by far the best way to go. Stock dyno: 145whp and 3L dynoed: ~200whp

Drop me a PM if you have any questions on mods or issues you need help with.

Chris
