Since Fall is well underway and people are starting to wrap up their cars thought i'd be appropriate to see what, if any, modifications/projects/builds/add-ons people will be doing throughtout the winter?

I'm thinking about a torque converter and a trans brake

Probably nothing this winter. I am currently saving for some things though. I want a tubular k-member, coil overs, and PHB/TA setup (from MM). Also, I'd like to complete a N/A budget build w/ a Mark VIII short block, self ported NPI heads w/ SS valves, and some LT's. This set up would be around 10.5:1 compression and would make for a nice torquey N/A combo.

A new engine, updated SFI safety components, new slicks and a better paint job for the Mustang drag car is anxiously anticipated this winter. The Cobra will get a clutch / throwout bearing combination. That should take care of this winter.

Long tubes, cams and a TB. If i don't spend all my money on worthless stuff.

worthless stuff.... ahh all so true.

So far on the list:
New Tires (NITTOS 555's all around).

PAINT! lol thats the big thing. but the engine and trans are getting pulled to be regasketed(i may see about some porting and polishing on the heads.) and powdercoating and paint the block, it will also get SVT 2.5l cams .the engine bay will get cleaned up along with some wire tucking and moving hoses and lines around to hide them better
. the wheels are gonna get reblasted and powderchromed. . a stock svt radiator, as it has a se one right now.
hmmmmm i think thats all. oh and a upgraded clutch.

I don't do winter projects, too cold in the garage... but early spring (or possibly late this fall) will see the new JBA Headers, cat-less X, transmission fluid change-over to Amsoil, and the "Anti-Venom" shift detent mod.
And... I may have a surprise for next spring... we'll see if I can get up the gumption to do it or not...

IDK how it'll affect as it varies car2car but I am told that the TA can rattle abunch if you do alot of driving (highway). I should check into this more to see if theres any truth to that or not. Have you heard at all? Overall it aint a big deal u suppose as benifits of these 2 combined outwiegh the NLV's incurred by the TA. Im looking forward to spring as you know cux i got the MM PHB tucked away 4 winter. Btw, You pulling the trigger at all on sound system upgrades? :)

What is that?

JBA brand, haven't heard too much about their headers. Pretty good?

No plans to do anything to the car, it's parked for winter and I'll think about it come spring.

I don't drive my car more than a few thousand miles/year (at best) so I'm not really concerned about the noise. Plus with the o/r h-pipe it's difficult to hear much of anything anyways.

I haven't heard that at all. There likely is an increase in NVH w/ a full coilover setup, PHB, TA, poly engine/trans mounts, and tubular k-member though.

Exactly :D

I'm looking forward to spring as you know cux i got the MM PHB tucked away 4 winter.

Word, that should be sweet. You'll have to give me a ride once you get that PHB installed. I'm curious to find out how it feels in the turns :D

Btw, You pulling the trigger at all on sound system upgrades? :)

I kind of forgot about that... I do have that new deck I bought from KrisR... hmm... might have to buy some of that stuff this winter!

I'm really pumped to do the engine build though. I've never done anything like it, and am excited to try something new and learn a thing or two. It might take me a couple years before I save up enough to get going on it, but whatev :D

Well, I'm kinda one of the small stuff guys also.... due to more than one reason though. I've been gone for 6 months and got some R&R at home, and went to pull the car out of storage and noticed it needed a little repair... (sigh) so I had to order me some new intake hoses. Basic black for me... hopefully I'll get to drive it before I have to go back for another 6 months. :)

Wash, wax and oil change. Then it will collect dust till spring. May buy some stuff for it over the cold months.

Project = clean off and remove storage shelf. Put storage shelf in father inlaws basement a long with all the crap. Build or buy a work bench to put where storage shelf used to sit.

Well, all the work I WASN'T going to do until spring got started early due to nice weather a few weeks ago... now it sits in disrepair waiting for another burst of warmth to allow reconstruction. Tonight would have been nice, but going to be at basketball practice, and will be in no mood to work on car after that.
Eh... have to still get drivers side header gaskets anyway. I thought I already had them only to open the package and find out I only ordered the passenger side piece... oops... order in with AVF. :)

Have received all the coil-over parts, just need to yank the rear shocks and send them in to be grooved for circlips.
Then it's tear down the suspension and rebuild it.
Again... waiting for warmer weather. :)

Not really a winter build, but my floor tiles came in today... can't wait to insulate, sheetrock, and tile my garage. Wife bought me the BlockTile brand diamond pattern tiles. Going to do a black/silver 2x2 checkerboard pattern with a blue border.

Update on my end.
We got rid of the 06 Focus SES. Couldn't do the payments anymore.
Finally got the Sport Trac up and running good. Wifee is happy.
Got a couple of parts for my SVTF, and am waiting on a couple more.
Gonna get rid of the SVTC... ugh... still no title.
Heading off to Pennsylvania for a month, and will make some good cash there, so maybe I'll come back with something a little nicer for the overall. :)

This thread has had quite a life to it. Been a good progression to see what's been happening to people while they were away for the winter. I now pose a sub-set question here within:

"Update of your built or addition (car related) heading into spring"

1. Quick Summary of What you did
2. How it is after and/or when you expect to be done.

I know from following this thread that some stuff has been done as well as some other's who have done stuff yet haven't posted. Pictures are always welcomed to post.
