Is it really the 2004 color Mystichrome, or the 1996 color? Your thoughts? Looks nicely done tho.

It's hard to say but the color does seem to change a bit too much to be exactly what I remember the 2004 color as. It almost seems like a mixture of the two. It could be the lighting though.

Do you think they had a custom miniature buffer made to buff that thing? lol

It looks to me like the purple & green that shows in the photos is the 96 shade. And lol on the buffer...

Did Ford ever even release the 1996 paint, I know it was super restricted for a LONG time.

The 2004 paint on the other hand has always been available.

It does look like they did a pretty good job.

The Ultimate Cordless 1" Random Orbital
Now You Can Polish And Wax Anything, Anytime, Anywhere, With The Latest In Orbital Technology. Battery-Powered, Bluetooth Enabled & Built To Last.
I've been using orbitals for years, but even with the versatility of our 3" and 6" Random Orbitals, I still find myself polishing and waxing some projects by hand. No more! With our all-new Cordless 1" Random Orbital, you can perfect and protect any surface, from wheel spokes to model cars to eyeglasses. You'll leave no surface untouched. Double-helical gearing and neodymium magnet technology produce speeds up to 15,000 orbits per minute. Using Formula 1-developed KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) technology, the orbital's 3000 mAh Nickel-metal hydride AA battery is recharged while you work... for up to 3 hours of continuous use! An internal cooling system circulates unicorn tears through phase-change heat exchangers, keeping the orbital at optimum temperature. A proprietary LINT (Laser Imaging Nano-Technology), coupled with an internal flux capacitor, scans surfaces and automatically adjusts orbit speeds and patterns for optimal results. Plus, the system anticipates future scratches so you can polish them away before they happen! But we didn't stop there. All this technology is housed within a plant-based, self-healing polymer. Drop it, poke it, write it a strongly-worded letter... the 1" Random Orbital can take a beating. When you're finished working, an internal PPU (Physics Processing Unit) wirelessly transmits a complete SCA (Surface Condition Analysis) to any Bluetooth enabled device. After hours, literally hours, of research and development I'm proud to offer you the miniaturized orbital you never knew you needed. One you can truly call "The Ultimate"!

Yep, nice paint or not it's still a Maisto die cast. Not bad but pretty low end.
