Is there anywhere a listed out set of rules? First year entering and wondering stuff like, coolers with beverages, grilling, and how/if all that works/is allowed. I don't want to break any rules but need to know them to plan ahead.

HAULNSS
07-04-2010, 11:40 AM
You can bring in coolers, but grills are discouraged. Often the greasy smoke will leave a greasy haze on the cars (and they are hot and messy to deal with, IMO)

For those who haven't been before, a few things you should consider bringing:

Lawn chairs
Cooler with pop/water/beverage - always a good idea to bring extra since some idiot (ie. me) usually forgets his and passes out in the middle of the street from dehydration
Food - the fairgrounds do have food stands around, but if you don't feel like paying $17 for a burger you can bring your own
Camera - take a picture of some rims so you can convince the wife later that you need to buy them
Sunscreen
Cookies :uhoh:
Spare Terminator motor for D9

We should also get a count of who all has and will be bringing an EZ Up tent, it's great putting a bunch together, getting a large group of people inside and then staring silently at people walking by...bonus points if you throw sticks at the people on scooters

Yea... your paying for all 3 days regaurdless if you go all 3 days or not. There isn't just a "day" entry. Only for spectators.

>>>
i saw on WCCO that Friday is mostly sunny in the morning...then partly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs 85 to 90
IS ANYONE GOING TO PORKY's then friday night??
For saturday i heard that its suppose to be artly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs around 85. So thats good odds of a great day.

Last time I registered a car at CC was a few years ago. I got there when the gates opened to get credentials and such. Getting my credentials didn't take too much time, but they made us wait for over an hour trying to get us into the grounds as they couldn't move us fast enough. Has this been resolved, or do any of you know if there is a better way. It's kind of hard to get into your saved spot by 10:00 if they don't let you in fast enough to get there :splat:

There isn't a way for me to get my credentials today, but would that even make a difference?

Thanks

We stuck it out, got rained on but nothing bad storm wise. Left the fairgrounds around 7:00 after sticking around for the mishap with the 2000 Saleen. (Not a member of group but parked in the vendors area).

Thanks to LadyCobra for giving me a heads up about the storm. Stopped in Maple Grove to pick up a new phone from TMobile after my old one took a shit today at Car Craft, got back on the freeway and saw the shelf cloud, phone rang and she told me to get off the road asap as there were reports of a tornado between Rogers and Maple Grove. Pulled off the freeway just as it got nasty, winds were slamming into the car and debris started flying across the road. The sky was an erie green at first then turned pitch black and poured for a good 20 minutes, eventually it started to let up so I got back on the road. Sky at this point was a creepy shade of orange:

http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac199/jsphotog/IMG_5359.jpg

Snapped this in Monticello 15 minutes later looking at the back end of the storm:

Owner of the tent/idiot who put the tent back up after it had already blown over. The tent belonged to the guys parked behind the club on the grass, they put it back up and a few minutes later the wind flipped it again and it slammed into the Saleen. Damaged the fender, hood, bumper, and door. The guys started packing up and were booking to get out of there but thankfully security & the State Fair Police stopped them before they did and took down a report. Felt bad for the Saleen owner, don't think he realizes the extent of the damage.

Glad you are safe, Jason. That first pic tells it all - that's scary. We had some fun with the kids all in the basement (3rd time this year already) with the sirens going off!

Oh, I can't believe the guys with the tent were going to bail. I thought from reading D9's post it was an MNFE member's tent. Tents and wind do not go well together. I had a very near miss as some of you may remember at the Fall show a couple years back. At least I only had the tent to replace/fix.
