Woody's is holding their "Hump Day Cruise In" again this summer, and the next one is Wednesday, May 13. The one after that is May 27. Here's a link to the flyer:

This is a relatively small cruise in, but still a good time. The local cafe will have a steak buffet on their patio, and Ginny's Drive In is a perennial favorite, as well.

Beware: Highway 56 from Kenyon to West Concord is closed until September, and if you're coming from the Twin Cities, you'll want to take either MN Hwy 57 or I-35 south to Medford.

Donna and I are taking the summer off from the car show this year, and will be supporting the cruise in instead. We're thinking about a spring car show, but aren't sure yet.

There is a car show in West Concord, this year, but it's not until fall - Hotrod Hardware will be putting on their annual end-of-season show on October 6:

I see they still have the old flyer posted and will ask them to update the web page. The October show won't be held in Kasson at the fair grounds - it will be in West Concord. This can easily be a 700-car show, all makes and models.

Next cruise in scheduled for July 18th, and then it skips all the way to August before the next one. Gettin' a door ding and a few rock chips repaired at MN Hotrod Hardware, and stripes are on order - hope it will be done by then.

One of these days I'll make it to one of these. I'm up near Red Wing, so it's a bit of a hike, and by the time I get there, there's bugs splattered all over the Lightning.

Is the dyno guy usually there?

No dyno guy this year - he tells me he's going back to school (some kind of drag racing mechanics school in Texas) and parked the dyno.

It's been fun without him, but not as entertaining.

I used to bring the fire department's 1929 International down for the cruise-in, but we've got a sticking valve and it's in storage until we can get that fixed. Otherwise, I'd offer to give you a ride.

Last two cruise-ins of the year coming up:

August 29th and September 5

It seems like the last one of the season is always the best attended - lots of cool cars floating around in this area... Thunderbolt, Cobra replica, etc. I'll have to check with Woody, but he had free food for the last cruise-in last year.

MN Hotrod Hardware's open house is slated for October 6, and that's always fun, too....

Last cruise in of the summer this Wednesday (September 5), and the highway is open! MN Highway 56 north is open, meaning a smooth-as-a-baby ride from St. Paul. It starts at 5pm and goes until about dark.

Plug this address into your GPS, and it will take you right to it:
180 Main Street
West Concord, MN 55985

That's the address for City Hall, which is at the corner of MN Hwy 56 and Main Street. Here's a picture of the street:
