Ford Performance Vehicles (http://www.autoblog.com/tag/fpv/) (FPV) is the Australian equivalent to Ford's SVT (http://www.autoblog.com/tag/svt/) division here in North America. Its high-performance sedan, the GT, is based on the Ford Faclon (http://autoblog.com/tag/falcon) saloon. FPV has unveiled the most hardcore version of the GT yet - the FPV GT RSPEC. The machine was developed by FPV with the intent of providing track-minded consumers a competition-ready performer.
Under the hood is a supercharged 5.0-liter V8, codenamed "Miami," that puts out 455 horsepower and announces its arrival with a bold "Boss" paint scheme. Power is routed through a ZF six-speed manual transmission, sending power to the road via Dunlop Sport Maxx tires. The GT RSPEC will feature a very limited run of 350 units.
In addition to the GT sedan is a new limited edition Ute that will feature the same fire-breathing supercharged V8 and exterior treatment. Even more rare than the GT, the FPV Pursuit Ute will be limited to only 75 units.
