Galpin's monstrous GTR1 has made its official debut (http://www.autoblog.com/2013/08/16/galpin-ford-gtr1-supercar-monterey-2013/), and now we have live images to go along with the 1,197-horsepower (when fed 100-octane fuel) rocket. Taking a look at the GTR1 outside of the studio, it's interesting to see how different it looks.
The exterior isn't so familiar when shown in natural light. The studio shots make the design seem overly influenced by the Ford GT (http://www.autoblog.com/tag/ford+gt/) and Shelby GR-1 (http://www.autoblog.com/2005/01/09/detroit-auto-show-ford-shelby-gr-1/). There are still nods to those designs, but we're certainly more enamored with the finished product.
