On one hand, this doesn't seem so dumb. It would be interesting to see what sort of differentiation they could still pull off doing something like this. And it's pretty much true no one really cares what's powering their more pedestrian family haulers. If anything it might allow them to make powertrains better, sooner.

On the other hand, F*** Wall Street! They've been greedily mismanaging the US economy since the '80s.
