Well after many years of almost no progress my car 1989 GT is getting soda blasted today (9am) and then it will be ready to start getting paint.

I will try posting some pictures tomorrow.

Well the lovely F'in city of Bloomington put an end to my car getting blasted. I hate this city. Now I need to find a way to get my car trailered down to Shakopee so it can get blasted.

Some women from the city of Bloomington just happened to be driving by and noticed what we were doing. She came up and told me it is against city code to work on a vehicle in your driveway and we were violating the noise ordinance. Which I should have made her prove it with sound meter because I am sure it was no louder then the air planes taking off in the morning.

That's frustrating. :banghead:

I think you should just wait till they leave and then blast the car!

Well the shell is on a trailer and will be heading to Shakopee this morning for a day of blasting. The fenders and hatch have already been done. Unfortunatly the cervinis hood is to soft to blast (the soda ate in) so I will have to hand sand that. It is really cool to see the car in bare metal. Makes me want to scotch brite the whole thing and then clear coat it.

Polish it first!

So that means the car will actually start coming together??

Most likely not, I think the painting process could last another year or two.

No I plan on providing mental support. It will be quite difficult with my small blonde brain but I will try my best.

Here is a picture of the car loaded ready to leave. They got half done before some problems today and should have it done tomorrow.

Here it is all soda blasted, the black paint on the front is POR15, it is so tough he strugled to get through it. I asked him to just dust the surface to take the gloss away and give the next coat of paint something to stick to.

Very nice!! Looks like a great body to start with too. It's cool to keep a record in pictures. It helps keep motivation levels higher when you can see where you came from. Looking good so far!
