For some reason, the wife thinks she wants to replace the 1994 T-Bird she has been driving since 1997. I've replaced the head gaskets (twice), repainted the front bumper (four times), even put new (used) tires on it a few times and now she thinks she wants something else. I don't get it. Anyway, she's liking the Fusion, but none of our friends have one. Does anyone on here have any experiences, good or bad, they'd be willing to share? Thanks.

We're thinking about checking some out at Apple Valley and Freeway Ford on Sunday. We actually bought our 94 bird at Freeway and they really treated us well. Don't know if we'll go anywhere else or not yet.

Personally, I don't care for mine. It's a nice all around car, gets good gas mileage (about 27mpg mixed hiway/city) but ... traction in the winter is really terrible ('08 S model - base model 4 cylinder manual trans).

have heard the same complaint from many others including V6 owners. There is a solution... snow tires... but I'm too cheap for that. :uhoh:

My wife drives a 2010 FUSION Hybrid (Base model). We love it. Great gas mileage, lots of room, super quiet (they started putting a noise reducing glass on FUSION) and the ride is very smooth. Haven't had any issues in snow yet (tires are brand new though) and I hate FWD in winter. The Civic we had before this was horrible in snow.

My wife drives a 2008 Fusion SE V6 with the Sport package (18" wheels/tires). She loves it. she gets about 25 in mixed driving. Snow traction is all about the tire. The Goodyear Eagle RSA tires are ok in the snow, but I went and bought a set of 16" wheels with Hankook snow tires. With the snow tires it goes through the white stuff like a tank! Overall the fusion is a great car.

Thanks for the info. We're considering an 07 or 08, probably. There's no way I'd get her into a stick. That's one of her few non-negotiable items, automatic only. She's fine with either a four or a six and most any color is okay, except black (too hard to keep a black dd clean). We've been to two dealers around Roch and they only have a couple of used ones. They both said the used ones go out as fast as they come in, so I take that as a good sign. We'll look around and see what we find. Thanks again!

Looks like everyone mentioned the FWD, but they do have them in AWD AUTO V6. Would be great for winters IMO.

Well, we checked eBay, AutoTrader, etc and then went to about a dozen dealers to scope everything out. Long story short, she fell in love with an AWD Lincoln MKZ, so we're done looking for cars. :woot:

Here are some shots from today. It could use a good detailing, but it looks pretty good. Before anyone asks, and I don't want to disappoint you, but no, the Edsel in the background is not for sale. I am sorry if I crushed anybody's dreams.... :biglaugha:

Great car. I've always liked those. I only wished they made the dash look more like a dash for a car instead of one you'd find in a SUV. Seems to blocky to me like it's the F150 dash.

Id get the Taurus! The revamped one is totally sweet. Fusions are nice, but the Taurus is better!!!!

Not sure how I missed this post? WE have a 2010 Fusion, it is by far the best family sedan I've ever own. The ride is smooth and quiet; three weeks ago we took it to the dells and average. 36.1 mpg.

AWD only helps with accel and not getting stuck, not with stopping. I figured you know that, but it's ridiculous how many think it'll stop on a dime too. Winterforces on my focus 16" rims were only 60 somethin a piece, well worth it if you ask me.

Wasn't the Fusion the car of the year just a couple years ago?
