A poker run is an organized event where participants must visit five checkpoints, earning a playing card at each one. The object is to have the best poker hand at the end of the run. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the day to the top hands that have been donated by sponsors. Current paid members of Minnesota Ford Enthusiasts were eligible for a card at each stopping point.
Our stopping points for the day:
10:00am - Norm's Tire, Little Canada
11:30am - Downtown Stillwater
12:30pm - Red Savoy's Pizza, Hudson, WI
3:00pm - Apple Valley Ford, Apple Valley
5:30pm - Mystic Lake Casino Hotel, Prior Lake
Kicking off the day at Norm's Tire we were treated to donuts and beverages courtesy of Nick Strohbeen, Co-Owner of Norm's Tire. Nick also treated everyone to a tour of the facilities and what all Norm's has to offer our members including tires, wheels, alignments and other vehicle services. Thanks Nick! Before departing, all paid members had the chance to draw their first card of the day.
Promptly at 10:00 we headed out on a 20 mile cruise to Stillwater, Minnesota. Once we arrived, we parked for a gorgeous view of the St. Croix river and a chance to get out and socialize, take pictures and of course draw a second card for member's poker hands. We once again lined up to cruise out but were caught by the lift bridge crossing over into Wisconsin. Another golden opportunity for picture taking.
At 12:00 we departed for Hudson, Wisconsin for a buffet lunch at Red Savoy's Pizza. Many thanks to Chris & Shelly Utech (members of the club) for hosting us for lunch. Our members were treated to Pizza, Pasta, Salad, and Beverages. After drawing the third card for the poker hands, it was time to saddle up and cruise to Apple Valley.
At Apple Valley Ford, our dealer sponsor, we got down to business. Our monthly meeting was held to update our members about upcoming events, club business and other information. Members from the AVF Racing Crew (Cole, Steve and JohnnyZ) gave us a presentation of the services that are offered at AVF and gave our members a quick tour of the dealership. We adjourned outside to draw another card for Poker Hands and talk with some of the new faces that joined us at the dealership.
Shortly after 4:00 we departed for Mystic Lake Casino, the final destination for our Poker Run. Upon arrival members met at The Buffet to draw the final card of the poker run. The results of the poker hands were:

3rd Place - Kyle Krenz (2 Pairs - 5's & 3's)
4th Place - Dan Neinstadt (Pair Aces)
5th Place - Gary Dahl (Pair Kings, Ace High)
6th Place - Stacy Budde (Pair Kings, Queen High)
Congratulations to all of the winners! Prizes included a Craftsman Mechanic's Tool Set, Red Savoy's Gift Certificate, Norm's Tire Gift Certicates, Model Car and T-Shirts/Keychains from AVF Racing. All participants walked away with a gift.
